Building a brand center for MetLife to drive a consistent and unified representation across all platforms.
After its 2016 rebrand, MetLife encountered the challenge of enabling globally dispersed teams to consistently implement the new brand. The goal was to help designers and developers across the globe create digital experiences that are strategic, cohesive, and visually impactful.
The Metlife Global Design System platform consists of essential components, including foundational standards, guidelines, and resources. The platform has become a vital tool, serving over 45,000 stakeholders across the globe.
Each component page was crafted with a consistent structure, offering direct access to assets while providing instructions on how to use the component and accessibility recommendations.
To make this resource fully effective, we included examples that demonstrate how all the components come together. The showcase section highlights our best examples across all platforms.
In addition to examples demonstrating how all the components work together, we also included our localization sprints to showcase how MetLife's system can be adapted to different cultures.
To gain a deeper understanding of how we adapted the visual system to a specific culture, visit MetLife South Korea design sprint for an in-depth look at one of the localization sprints.
